Clarity & Intuition Mala | Clear Knowing

There are places that seem to change the way you pay attention.

The gardens at Hale Akua were like that for me. Everywhere I walked, there was another layer to notice—the dense tropical growth, flowers opening between enormous leaves, water moving through the landscape, and guardians quietly watching over the grounds and the ocean beyond.

This mala feels connected to that kind of awareness.

Its palette moves between deep indigo, luminous white, smoky gray, and clear crystal. Lapis Lazuli and Sodalite bring those saturated blues associated with truth, insight, and expression. Labradorite and Moonstone shift with the light, while Herkimer Diamond catches it completely—creating moments of brightness between the darker stones.

Together, they remind me that clarity isn't always about finding a new answer.

Sometimes it is about becoming quiet enough to recognize what you already know.

This is one of five pieces I hand-carried to Maui and brought into the gardens of Hale Akua. Each mala was placed with a different guardian and photographed there.

When I placed this mala with its guardian, I asked the guardian to send the aloha energy of Maui to the person who would one day wear it.

I love the idea that this particular piece carries that intention through stones associated with seeing, knowing, and speaking truth.

Use Clear Knowing when you need space between the noise around you and the voice within you.

During meditation, move slowly through the beads while holding a simple question or intention. Rather than forcing an answer, allow the repetition of the mala to become a way of settling your attention.

This piece may be especially meaningful before journaling, making a decision, beginning a difficult conversation, or anytime you feel pulled in too many directions.

When you reach the guru bead, pause. Ask yourself:

What do I know when I stop trying to convince myself?

Then give yourself a moment before answering.

The ritual isn't about making the mala decide for you. It is about creating enough stillness to hear yourself more clearly.

Third Eye Chakra — This is the strongest connection for the piece. Lapis Lazuli is traditionally connected with the Third Eye, Sodalite is described as an awakener of the Brow/Third Eye Chakra, and Herkimer Diamond is also associated with Third Eye activation. Together, they support the theme of perception, intuition, reflection, and recognizing what matters beneath all the incoming information.

Throat Chakra — Lapis Lazuli and Sodalite are both traditionally associated with the Throat Chakra and the expression of thought, feeling, beliefs, and personal truth. That gives this mala an important second dimension: not only recognizing what you know, but finding the clarity to express it.

Crown Chakra — Herkimer Diamond is specifically associated with the Crown as well as the Third Eye, bringing a layer of expanded awareness, reflection, and spiritual attunement to the piece.

💧 Water Element — Stillness, intuition, reflection, emotional depth, and the clarity that emerges when we allow things to settle.

Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, oils, sunscreen, household chemicals, and other personal-care products.

Remove your mala before swimming, bathing, showering, exercising, or prolonged exposure to water. Because this piece combines multiple natural stones, crystal surfaces, hand-knotting, and a tassel, keeping it dry will help preserve the materials and construction.

For energetic cleansing, choose a dry method such as moonlight, incense smoke, or sound rather than soaking the mala or using salt water.

Store it separately in a soft pouch or dedicated space when you're not wearing or working with it.

If the tassel becomes rumpled, lightly dampen the fibers, gently reshape them with your fingers, and allow the tassel to dry flat.
